East Coast Championship Show on April 3- 9
The largest Quarter Horse show on the east coast, the East Coast Championship Show will attract more than seven hundred exhibitors who will vie for over $90,000 in cash and prizes during the course of the seven day show. In addition to a full line-up of western pleasure, showmanship, trail, equitation, driving, halter, hunter and jumper classes, special attractions during this year’s show will feature the "Extravaganza Evening" on Wednesday, including the presentation of the 2006 Virginia Horse of Distinction, and "Fabulous Fashions," a fashion show. The East Coast Championship Show will begin at 8:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday and at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday. Classes will be held in the Virginia Horse Center. TCH Fox Chase Horse Show Series
The TCH Fox Chase Horse Show Series 2006 is 14 schooling Hunter horse shows that will culminate with a $10,000 High-Point Prize List. The large cash giveaway for "schooling" horse shows is the first of its kind in northern VA. In order to qualify, exhibitors and/or their horses must compete in 11 out of 14 Fox Chase Farm schooling shows between January and September, 2006. Prize money will be awarded to overall highest point winners from first to sixth place, plus a special award to the top three coaches/horse trainers.

Shenandoah Blue Ridge Appaloosa Association Lee-Jackson Spring Fling April 15-16
Held at the Virginia Horse Center, the Shenandoah Blue Ridge Appaloosa Association Lee-Jackson Spring Fling will present an exciting multi-judged show on Saturday and Sunday, April 15 and 16, beginning daily at 8:00 a.m. Saturday’s schedule will include Nez Perce Stake Races, halter for geldings and mares, keyhole race, pleasure driving, hunter hack, hunter under saddle, hunt seat equitation, saddle seat pleasure and saddle seat equitation classes. The Sunday show line up features Camas Prairie Stump Races, stake races, halter for stallions, western showmanship, bareback equitation, western pleasure, western equitation, reining and trail classes. Mid Atlantic Tennessee Walking Horse Classic April 21-22
Affiliated with the National Walking Horse Association, the Mid Atlantic Tennessee Walking Horse Classic at the Virginia Horse Center April 21 and 22, will include classes for Tennessee Walkers, Mountain Horses, Spotted Saddle Horses, Racking Horses, plus All Day Pleasure classes for horses of all breeds. Three show sessions will be held Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and in the evening. On Saturday, the first show session will begin at 9:00 a.m. and "An Evening of Champions" session, highlighted by championship classes and a Stallion Parade, will begin at 7:00 p.m. Show proceeds will benefit Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. Old Dominion Futurity Benefit Horse Show April 21 and 22
The Old Dominion Futurity Benefit Horse Show will be held at the Virginia Horse Center. The 2006 event has been expanded to a two day show beginning at 6:00 p.m. Friday with the "Showcase of the American Saddlebred." The evening class line up will feature three and five gaited, fine harness, pleasure, and road horse classes. Two show sessions will be held Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and at 3:00 p.m. The morning session will include leadline, English pleasure, academy, and equitation classes for youth and adults. Lexington Spring Premiere April 26-30
Wrapping up the month on April 26 – 30 will be the Lexington Spring Premiere, a US Equestrian Federation "AA" rated horse show that attracts hundreds of the best hunter and jumper riders in the country to compete for thousands of dollars of prize money. The Lexington Spring Premiere will begin daily at 8:00 a.m. and will include a full line up of hunter and jumper classes, highlighted by the Rockbridge Grand Prix on Saturday evening, April 29. Nineteenth Annual Bonnie Blue National Horse Show May 10-13
Mark your calendars now and make plans to attend the Nineteenth Annual Bonnie Blue National Horse Show on May 10 - 13, 2006 at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington. For nearly two decades, the Bonnie Blue National has impressed audiences with flashy horses and elegantly turned out riders and drivers, plus entertained families and children with stick horse races and other special events. This year will be no exception and includes the return of the Bonnie Blue Antique Show, which will feature numerous antique dealers offering an array of fine furniture, estate jewelry and collectibles on the concourse surrounding the show ring in Anderson Coliseum.
The Bonnie Blue was named the 2005 United Professional Horseman’s Association Chapter 18 Honor Show for the fourth time in the past six years. This year’s show will feature a full line-up of classes for Saddlebreds, Hackneys, and Friesians, plus pleasure driving classes for singles and multiples.
Additionally, the 2006 Bonnie Blue National has been selected by the USEF as a Regional Triple Point Show in the Saddlebred and Hackney pony harness divisions. Special exhibitor events hosted by the Virginia Horse Center Foundation will include a Brunswick stew picnic on Tuesday, May 9, and an Exhibitor Party on Friday evening, May 12.
Upperville Colt & Horse Show June 5 - 11, 2006
Upperville Colt & Horse Show is the oldest horse show in the United States. Steeped in tradition, it extends a full seven days, and involves over two thousand horse and rider combinations from young children on ponies to leading Olympic and World Cup riders and horses.
A longtime favorite of horse show competitors, Upperville features full divisions of entries from all corners of the United States and abroad. The show was voted the Virginia Horse Shows Association Horse Show of the Year and is a designated World Championship Hunter Rider Show.
Upperville is a week-long AA - Rated show with VHSA, MHSA, and USEF events in all Hunter Divisions and Sunday’s highlight, the prestigious Budweiser Upperville Jumper Classic. Other activities on the grounds includes pony rides, arts and craft exhibits, boutiques, children’s games, a wide variety of food offerings, and a Bassett Hound demonstration preceding the Jumper Classic.

Virginia Gaited Jubilee June 30 & July 1
The Virginia Gaited Jubilee will take place at the Virginia Horse Center and features Tennessee Walking, Mountain, Racking, Spotted Saddle and Country Pleasure horses who will compete in a full lineup of versatility and open breed classes. New for 2006 is a Peruvian Paso division and all-gaited drill team competition. Over $12,000 is offered in prize money. Versatility classes including dressage and EquiTheater are offered. Arabian Horse Association Region 15 Championship July 6 - 9
Held at the Virginia Horse Center it is one of the best Arabian horse shows in the country, a direct qualifier for the National Championship Show.
